The St. George wreck is one of the favorite dive sites in the Bayahibe area, if not the entire Dominican Republic. The wreck is in 144 feet of water, and is therefore considered an advanced dive, however the top of the wreck is at 50 feet and can be explored by newer divers who can observe its depth.
Nurse and reef sharks, possible eagle rays, turtles and many fish live in and around the wreck: snapper, angelfish, grunts, anemones and groupers.

Description
This ship was built in 1962 in Scotland. This transatlantic freighter, which carried wheat and barley between Norway and America, was abandoned in the port of Santo Domingo after 20 years of service. Renamed after taking the full impact of Hurricane George, St. George was purchased by Club Dominicus and scuttled on June 12, 1999. For more advanced divers, St George is a very impressive deep wreck with lots to see, from corals to encrusting and sponges to queen, angelfish and barracuda. Ideal for advanced and specialized courses, this site offers not only a perfect recreational site, but also the opportunity to develop your diving skills in many ways.

The excellent sea conditions allow diving 350 days a year and St. George is probably one of the most attractive dive sites in the Bayahibe area.

Atlantic Princess – Bayahibe

The Atlantic Princess was a small cruise ship used by tourists in the area. In 2008, she washed up on the beach during Tropical Storm Fay. The plan was to sink the ship and create a beautiful underwater environment and artificial reef for visitors to enjoy. But the Atlantic Princess actually sank on its own on May 6, 2009, and rests just 40 feet (12 meters) below the surface. To this day, she remains a great dive site for everyone, from beginners to experts, thanks to its abundant shallow marine life.
